My name is Rebecca Rat and this is my story:

Rebecca and the Two Kingdoms.

Once upon a time …. long, long ago a king and queen ruled over a distant land. The queens name was Mitoi Constanta Iuliana ( I know you love your name mom ) and the king was called by the name of Rat… Rat Traian. Back to the queen, she was kind and lovely (still is sometimes, If I clean my room) and all the people of the realm adored her.The only sadness in the queen’s life was that she wished for a child but did not have one.

One summer day, the queen was taking an order at the restaurant she worked at when a bird flew by the window. She was hypnotized by the beautiful colors the bird had on so she overturned the red wine on the white tablecloth. As she looked at the wine on the tablecloth she said to herself, “Oh, how I wish that I had a daughter that had skin as white as this tablecloth, lips as red as this wine, and hair as black as ebony.”

Well instead of having red lips I ended up having red cheeks but close enough.BACK TO THE STORY !

Soon after that, the kind queen got her wish when she gave birth to a baby girl who had skin white as the tablecloth, lips red as wine, and hair black as ebony. They named the baby princess Rebecca, but sadly, after 14 years of life, the baby princess lost her king.

Soon after, the queen married a new man who was proud and cruel. He had studied dark magic and owned a magic mirror, of which he would daily ask,

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s the smartest of them all?

Each time this question was asked, the mirror would give the same answer, “you, my king, there is no one smarter than you”.This pleased the king greatly as he knew that his magical mirror could speak nothing but the truth.

In the meantime, the princess was slowly adapting to her new German lifestyle and family. After the king’s death she had a really dark period in her life where she doubted herself at every step.

One morning when the king asked, “Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s the smartest of them all?” he was shocked when it answered:

You, my king, are smart; it is true.
But Rebecca is even smarter than you.

The King flew into a jealous rage and ordered his huntsman to take Rebecca into the woods to be life-sucked. He demanded that the huntsman return with Rebecca’s heart and emotions in a big jar as proof.

The queen tried to bring Rebecca back, but it was too late, the king had the control over her emotions and her body so instead of fighting … she gave up.

The little princess was so disappointed of her mother, she ran off by herself back to Romania for a couple of days.

In her oldest kingdom she had her reliable best friend Princess Ardelean and her cousin which was more like a brother to her : King Lucaci. After all the wise words and support, the little princess decided to go back to Germany and save her mother.

She hit the road alone being sure that her carriage driver will guide her home safe. After only a few minutes the carriage stopped.Looks like the man was one of the Kings helpers.

The poor driver took Rebecca into the forest, but found himself unable to do the job.He pushed her out of the carriage and went on, hoping that she’ll starve or find a safe place to hide.

She ran over sharp stones and through thorns.  She ran as far as her feet could carry her, and just as evening was about to fall she saw a little house and went inside in order to rest.

Because she was so hungry Rebecca ate a few vegetables and a little bread. At that moment she fell upon the bed which was standing near and lay still in a deep sleep.

Round the house a hedge of brier roses began to grow up.  Every day it grew higher until at last nothing could be seen of the sleeping cottage.

Will the little princess ever wake up ?
